During Summer 1, the teachers will be preparing the children for SATs by focusing on arithmetic fluency, reasoning skills, spelling and grammar rules and reading comprehension strategies. They will use past papers for familiarity, practising timed questions to build speed and using visual techniques for vocabulary and mathematical concepts.
During Summer 2, firstly, the children will be focussing on finalising their writing towards their SATs. Afterwards, they will be very busy going on their end of
year residential, planning and rehearsing their end of year show and the teachers will be preparing the children for transition to their secondary school.
