The Coordinator for PE is Miss Dobbin.
Redscope Primary School is committed to the principal of developing the best possible learning opportunities for our school community. Physical Education (PE) develops pupils’ physical competence and confidence, and their ability to use these to perform in a range of activities. It promotes physical skillfulness, physical development and knowledge of the body in action. Physical education provides opportunities for pupils to be creative, competitive and to face up to different challenges as individuals and in groups and teams. It promotes positive attitudes towards active and healthy lifestyles. Pupils learn how to think in different ways to suit a wide variety of creative, competitive and challenging activities. They learn how to plan, perform and evaluate actions, ideas and performances to improve their quality and effectiveness. Through this process, pupils discover their aptitude, abilities and preferences, and how to make choices about getting involved in lifelong physical activity.
We aim to raise standards and increase the activity levels of the whole school community through high quality learning and teaching and the provision of a supportive environment conducive to the promotion of physical activity.

Getting Active Links
Data from Sport England’s Active Lives survey found that a third of children are doing less than 30 minutes physical activity per day. At Redscope, we use a range of strategies to keep moving throughout the day. Each child has their own home learning log on in their home school diaries and can access familiar activities at home via the websites below.
